Organic Chemistry (Food Chemistry)
Florian Guth studied Chemistry at the University of Bayreuth. In his bachelor thesis 2016 he was working at the chair of Prof. Dr. Rhett Kempe on “Heterogenization of bimetallic, photoredox active catalysator-systems and their application in organic synthesis”.
Subsequently he studied also at the University of Bayreuth the M.Sc. course “Natural Product- and Drug Chemistry” where he was writing his master thesis at the chair of Prof. Dr. Frank Hahn in 2019 about the “Synthesis of various jerangolid derivatives for the elucidation of its biosynthesis by enzyme experiments”.
In his Ph.D. thesis at the chair of Prof. Dr. Frank Hahn he deals with the “Investigation of enzymes in the jerangolid biosynthesis and their application as biocatalysts in chemo enzymatic total synthesis”, utilizing besides classical organic synthesis mainly biochemical assays and usage of different analytical methods.
