A new paper of the group has just been published in ACS Catalysis.

We highlight the power of enzyme cascades to produce valuable chemical building blocks and natural products with high efficiency. The focus is on the heterocyclase AmbDH3 that we had previously discovered in the ambruticin biosynthetic pathway. We now show that the combination of this enzyme with alcohol dehydrogenases and other modifying enzymes allows the highly selective production of otherwise difficult to access chiral heterocycles in multienzymatic one-pot reactions.
