Our new paper in Journal of Organic Chemistry just went online.

We describe the total synthesis of two complex late-stage intermediates of the jerangolid pathway along with some novel derivatives. We used these compounds in bioconversion experiments with a methyltransferase from the same pathway for which we could show relaxed substrate specificity and remarkable tolerance towards organic co-solvents.
